Eckert Seamans’ Gaming Law practice group consists of attorneys and other
professionals who have years of experience working with both the legislative and
administrative process of gaming laws in Harrisburg, Pittsburgh,
Philadelphia and Baltimore.
Our lawyers have particular gaming expertise in Pennsylvania and have been active on behalf of clients
since prior to the enactment of Pennsylvania’s Gaming Law in 2004 and were
instrumental in the drafting and achieving passage of that landmark
legislation. Currently the firm’s lawyers are actively advocating for the
expansion of gaming in Pennsylvania to include table games. At
the present time, Eckert Seamans’ lawyers serve as a regulatory counsel to three
of the eight licensed casinos in Pennsylvania. The firm also represents
gaming manufacturers, gaming employees, and vendors before the Pennsylvania
Gaming Control Board. In addition, Eckert Seamans’ lawyers represent
Pennsylvania
municipal governments in gaming matters pertaining to the distribution of local
share monies and other gaming-related issues.
In addition to regulatory matters, attorneys in the firm have represented
casinos on financial transactions, real estate transactions, zoning matters,
labor and employment issues, utility issues, environmental matters, state and
federal tax matters, liquor issues and litigation in both state and federal
courts.
Overall, Eckert Seamans’ gaming practice is comprehensive and serves all the
needs of casinos, manufacturers and vendors. The firm takes pride in not
only assuring the legal compliance of gaming companies with applicable laws, but
also in developing strategies, whether they be regulatory, lobbying,
transactional or judicial, to establish a gaming environment that assists its
gaming clients to achieve maximum success.
