Deans-Schaub and Shiekman Join Eckert Seamans’ Philadelphia Office
Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC, a full-service national law firm,
recently announced that attorneys Kathryn K. Deans-Schaub and Marjorie
K. Shiekman have joined the Philadelphia office as Members, bolstering the
firm’s active product liability practice. Both join the firm from Dechert
LLP.
Kathryn Deans-Schaub focuses her practice in the areas of mass tort
and product liability litigation; her experience includes the representation of
several major pharmaceutical companies in defense of nationwide product
liability cases. Active in the community, Ms. Deans-Schaub previously
served as the Vice Consul of the Republic of Austria in Philadelphia
from 1993-2006, is a founder and former trustee of the French International
School of Philadelphia, and also established a Saturday German language school
for children on Philadelphia’s Main Line. She earned her law degree from the
University of Pennsylvania Law School and her undergraduate degree, summa cum
laude, from the University of Pittsburgh.
Marjorie Shiekman concentrates her practice in the field of product
liability defense, with a particular emphasis in pharmaceutical and tobacco mass
tort litigation. Active in the community, Ms. Shiekman is a Board Member
of the Pepper Society of the Free Library of Philadelphia, Dignity Housing and
the Rock School of Dance. She is also a founding member of the Trustees
Council of Penn Women of the University
of Pennsylvania, a member of the
National Alumnae Council of the Springside School and a member of various committees
of the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Ms. Shiekman earned her law degree from
the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1981, as well as her M.S. from the
Penn Graduate School of Education in 1971 and her undergraduate degree, cum
laude, in 1970.
