Leading Trial Lawyer Keith Smith Joins Eckert Seamans in Philadelphia
The national law firm of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC today
announced the addition of prominent trial lawyer Keith E. Smith to the
firm’s Philadelphia office as a Member.
His practice is focused on commercial litigation, product liability and mass
tort litigation.

Smith, a leading trial lawyer, joins the firm from the Philadelphia office of DLA
Piper, where he practiced for more than 14 years. His practice is devoted
to the regional and national representation, in an advisory capacity and as
trial counsel, of clients as plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of
matters including products liability, class action, warranty,
anti-counterfeiting and brand integrity, drug and medical devices, fire,
construction, sexual abuse, employee terminations, restrictive covenants,
misappropriation of trade secrets, employee fraud and embezzlement, contract
disputes, and general commercial litigation. His clients include numerous
national and international manufacturers of commercial and industrial machinery,
automobiles and component parts, food and food products, drug and medical
devices, tobacco, consumer products, textiles, and alloy, carbon, and composite
piping. He has represented manufacturers in the defense of several
national and state class actions involving allegations of product defect,
warranty and consumer fraud.
Smith earned his law degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1992,
where he was a member of the Villanova Law Review, and his
undergraduate degree from Villanova University in 1989. He is admitted
to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York
and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of
Pennsylvania, the Southern and Eastern
Districts of New
York and the District of New Jersey. He is a
member of the Villanova Law J. Willard O'Brien American Inn of Court, the
Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar
Association, New York Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association and the
Federal Bar Association.
