Corporate Attorney Joins Eckert Seamans in Philadelphia
The national law firm of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC today
announced that it has significantly bolstered its corporate practice in
Philadelphia
with the addition of Michael D. Ecker as a Member. He joins the
firm from Dilworth Paxson LLP, where he was Chair of that firm’s E-Commerce and
Healthcare groups. His practice includes corporate matters in the emerging
growth & technology, financial institutions and healthcare industries.

practice,” said Albert G. Bixler, Member-in-Charge of the firm’s Philadelphia office. “His
diverse corporate background and substantial experience with clients in the

Bixler added, “With Michael's arrival, we fortify an existing practice
strength of the firm in corporate and M&A, and bolster Eckert Seamans’
transactional practice as well.”
Ecker represents entrepreneurs, publicly and privately-held emerging
businesses, corporations, partnerships, and joint ventures in diverse industries
in a variety of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and
acquisitions, public and private finance and corporate governance.
A frequent lecturer, Ecker speaks to professional organizations on subjects
including legal and corporate developments in healthcare law, e-commerce,
mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.
Active in the profession, Ecker is a member of the American Bar Association,
Health Law Section; the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Business Law Section; and
the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law and Cyberlaw sections, as well as
the Mergers & Acquisitions committee.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, and the third
generation of lawyer in his family, Ecker earned both his law degree and M.B.A.
from Emory University, and his undergraduate degree from
Northwestern
University. He is
admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before
the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. He
holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
